I disagree, but for Dr. Watson Holmes would be bored with his work. It's always so exciting to see other people worship you and consider you as being a genius!!!
Hello Olya - judging from your comment, I think you do agree with the sentiment of the post. Holmes didn't carry Watson because he felt Watson to be a vital part of his detective work.
But Hercule Poirot is the best detective!
Hello Jean-Pierre - Poirot is a fine detective, but, for my money, the best one has to be Philip Marlowe.
