I don't want to get carried away with your "carry week", but it carries so much information I'm afraid I won't be able to carry it all in my mind, but I hope you'll carry out your promise to answer all my questions! Have I carried it too far? Are you sure you want me to carry on with your blog?
So, my first question: is this expresion actually used very often? Usually people tend to speak quicker and shorter and this collocation looks like a very long one, though understandable and can be easily remembered.
Hello again Yulia - yes, I am more than happy to answer all your questions, so do not worry about carrying it too far! And so, in reply to your query, people do use this expression very often as it doesn't contain any difficult words, which is usually what stops native speakers from saying something.
Welcome to Collocation of the Week - a site for advanced students of English. Each week I take a common word and look at five collocations of it, one a day. At the end of the week there is a short test where you can see what you have remembered. If you want a PDF of the week's collocation, press the link at the bottom of the page.
